Global Trading Limited T/A Happy Chef is seeking an experienced, reliable and customer-focused Store Manager to join our team in Kelston, Auckland.
Happy Chef is a busy takeaway food business specialising in gourmet burgers, shawarma, kebabs, wraps, rice dishes, meat and chips, and a range of sides. The Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the store and ensuring customers receive high-quality food and service.
The Store Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Happy Chef takeaway, including staff coordination, customer service, food quality, stock management, health and safety, sales, and general store administration.
The successful candidate will work closely with the business owners and kitchen team to ensure the store operates efficiently and maintains consistent food and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Store Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Happy Chef takeaway.
- Managing opening and closing procedures and ensuring the store is ready for service.
- Supervising and coordinating kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Preparing staff rosters and allocating duties according to business requirements.
- Ensuring sufficient staff are available during busy trading periods.
- Training and supervising staff in food preparation, customer service, store procedures and workplace requirements.
- Monitoring staff performance and providing guidance and feedback where required.
- Ensuring customers receive prompt, friendly and professional service.
- Handling customer enquiries, complaints and feedback and providing appropriate solutions.
- Monitoring the quality, presentation and consistency of food served to customers.
- Ensuring food is prepared and served in accordance with the business's recipes and standards.
- Monitoring food safety, hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store.
- Ensuring kitchen, preparation, dining and service areas are kept clean and organised.
- Monitoring stock levels of meat, vegetables, sauces, bread, packaging, beverages and other food supplies.
- Placing or coordinating stock orders with suppliers as required.
- Checking deliveries and ensuring stock is stored correctly.
- Monitoring stock rotation and reducing food wastage.
- Maintaining appropriate food storage and temperature-control procedures.
- Monitoring daily sales, transactions and store performance.
- Assisting management with sales targets, promotions and business improvement strategies.
- Monitoring customer demand and providing feedback to management regarding menu items and service.
- Ensuring equipment is used safely and reporting maintenance or repair requirements to management.
- Coordinating cleaning, maintenance and general upkeep of the premises.
- Maintaining accurate records relating to staff, stock, sales, cleaning and operational activities.
- Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed by all staff.
- Supporting compliance with relevant food safety, health and safety and employment requirements.
- Managing busy service periods and ensuring orders are prepared and completed efficiently.
- Assisting with recruitment and induction of new employees when required.
- Resolving day-to-day operational issues and escalating significant matters to management.
- Preparing reports and providing regular updates to management regarding store operations.
- Identifying opportunities to improve customer service, operational efficiency and profitability.
- Performing other reasonable duties associated with the Store Manager position as required.

Qualification or Experience:
Level 5 qualification or 2 years of relevant experience.
