Right now, we're looking for an Anaesthetic Technician/ Registered Nurse Anaesthetic Assistant with experience behind them to become part of our Theatre team here in Timaru Hospital.

Our service presents a busy environment, one that is navigated on a daily basis through a team-based model of care, so it is essential you have a kind nature and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing clinical situations.

  • As part of our Operating Theatre service you will be working with a supportive and friendly team.
  • Assist in multiple peri-operative scenarios, maintaining and practicing the highest level of patient care.
  • Focus on patient centred care and take great pride in improving the health and wellbeing of our community.
  • Ongoing professional development and given the wide geographical area the hospital covers, there will be many opportunities for variety in your work which lends itself to both your professional and personal development.
  • The hours of work are Monday to Friday, rostered shifts.
  • You will be required to participate in an on-call roster.

About you

  • A current Medical Science Council of NZ (MSC) OR Registered Nurse with Anaesthetic Assistant Qualification
  • Current APC
  • A minimum of one to two years of relevant technical experience
  • Knowledge of the relevant legislation and standards which govern health care practice in New Zealand

Salary Range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the respective collective agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the Pay Scale and relevant experience.
