Our team of 11 doctors, 1 clinical pharmacist, 8 nurses, 2 medical centre assistants and 8 support staff work from a well-equipped, modern site in New Plymouth. We pride ourselves on our service delivery and ensuring that every patient knows they matter to us. Our practice is delivering services under the Healthcare Home model of care.
About the Graduate Nursing Role: We are excited to welcome a dedicated and compassionate graduate registered nurse to our team. This role is ideal for a recent nursing graduate who is ready to begin their career in a supportive primary care environment. You will receive hands-on training, ongoing guidance, and opportunities to build your clinical confidence and capability while working alongside an experienced and collaborative nursing team. Our nursing team provides primary care nursing support, patient interventions, and treatment within a general practice setting. Working within their scope of practice, our nurses provide patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and holistic care to patients, their whānau and communities. Devon Medical Centre is a teaching practice and regularly hosts nursing placements. We encourage our nurses to work to the top of their scope and have supported our nurse team to become community nurse prescribers. As a graduate registered nurse, you will be supported by experienced nurses and encouraged to complete continuing professional development, regular peer review meetings and join a positive team workplace culture. Start Date: January 2027
Key Responsibilities: Provide safe and effective nursing care including triage, care plans, and health promotion. Effective interprofessional collaboration with our experienced clinical team to provide patient-centred care while considering patient and whanau views. Attend educational courses relevant to the role and scope of practice. Professional documentation and record keeping of all patient interactions and nursing care.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in nursing from a recognised institution. Current or pending registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council. Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills. Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
