This role offers structured rotations, education, and mentorship from senior therapists to build your confidence and expertise. We are also open to fixed placements for experienced clinicians who prefer to focus on specific areas.

Salary range: $80,594 to $112,496 per annum (pro rata), aligned with the Allied, Public Health, Scientific & Technical Collective Agreement and based on your experience and qualifications.

About the Role

As a physiotherapist at Southland Hospital, you'll deliver assessments and interventions across a variety of clinical areas, working within an interdisciplinary team. Rotations are typically six-monthly and may include:

  • Acute wards (medical, surgical, orthopaedics, paediatrics, critical care, maternity, and ED)
  • Rehabilitation (AT&R)
  • Community services
  • General outpatients, including group programmes

This role includes participation in weekend, and on-call rosters once orientated and competencies are met.

About you

You will ideally:

  • Hold a current Annual Practising Certificate with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand or be eligible for registration by February 2027.
  • Have placement or physiotherapy experience in hospital or community settings within a health system comparable to New Zealand's (e.g., Australia, UK, Canada)
  • Demonstrate clinical reasoning and the ability to work independently
  • Be a strong team player with excellent communication and a proactive approach to healthcare and learning
  • Be open to rotating between clinical areas
