About the Role

Te Uru Rauhī, Mental Health and Addiction Services, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Professional Administrator to join the team on a casual basis. This is a dynamic and varied role supporting leaders and services as they continue to progress towards a wellness and recovery-focused model of care. Our services promote interconnectedness across social, spiritual, physical, and environmental wellbeing, with a focus on achieving waiora - flourishing individuals, whānau, and communities.

As a Professional Administrator, you will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support while working closely with the Administration Lead and Locality Service Managers. The role includes supporting projects and initiatives, coordinating administrative processes, and contributing to the effective delivery of both community and clinical mental health and addiction services. You will be part of a diverse and talented team dedicated to supporting people experiencing mental health and addiction challenges.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working in an administration team environment.
  • Excellent computer literacy, particularly in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, external partners, clinicians, and frontline staff.
  • Excellent word processing skills and a high standard of written English, including grammar and spelling.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A positive attitude, good sense of humour, enthusiasm, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Uru Rauhī – Mental Health and Addiction Services is committed to delivering person-centred, recovery-focused care that supports whānau wellbeing and positive health outcomes. Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua – MidCentral is a 350-bed hospital in the city of Palmerston North, Manawatū, a city in the Lower North Island of New Zealand. Palmerston North Hospital is a secondary hospital and offers most medical and surgical specialties with the exception of Cardiothoracic, Plastic and Neurosurgery. The hospital serves a local population of 180,000 but is the base for a regional head and neck oncology service which has responsibility for a population of 550,000 and draws patients from Whanganui, Taranaki, and Hawke's Bay.
