Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 40 hours per week 

Pay Rate: $30.00 to $39.00 per hour

Affordable Dentist is seeking a motivated and reliable 1 Dental Assistant  to join our team. This role involves supporting the dentist with patient care, assisting during procedures, maintaining sterilisation and infection control standards, and helping with the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.

Key responsibilities:

·      Welcome patients and help prepare them for dental treatment 

·      Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing and passing instruments, materials, and other items needed 

·      Set up treatment rooms before each appointment and clean down after use 

·      Prepare dental materials and help with taking and processing X-rays, where required 

·      Use suction and water spray equipment during treatment to support the dentist and keep the patient comfortable 

·      Clean, sterilise, and store instruments and equipment in line with infection control procedures 

·      Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of dental equipment 

·      Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment 

·      Provide patients with basic aftercare instructions and dental health information, as directed by the dentist 

·      Support front desk tasks when needed, including booking appointments, answering calls, updating patient records, and processing payments

Requirements:

Applicants should have: 

-              At least 1 year of relevant work experience in the same field or industry; or 

-              A  relevant NZ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification or an equivalent qualification/certificate
