About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic RN to join our Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (ATR) and Acute Stroke Unit (ASU) Ward at Whanganui Hospital. This is a fixed term role until Feb 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team providing high-quality nursing care to patients requiring acute stroke management, rehabilitation, and ongoing medical care. You will contribute to delivering safe, compassionate, person-centred care while supporting patients and their whānau throughout their healthcare journey.

The Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation/Acute Stroke Ward provides specialised care for patients requiring stroke management, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services. About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Previous experience in medical, rehabilitation, aged care, or stroke nursing is desirable but not essential.
