We are looking for a hardworking candidate for the role of Housekeeping Manager in Otago. It is a full-time permanent role with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours of work per week, and we are looking for someone whom we can rely on.
The candidate must be able to work but not limited to:
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the housekeeping department.
- Coordinate and allocate housekeeping duties to staff according to occupancy and operational requirements.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and other facilities to ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Train, guide, and supervise housekeeping staff to ensure efficient and consistent work performance.
- Prepare staff rosters, work schedules, and daily task allocations.
- Monitor the availability and proper use of cleaning products, equipment, linen, and other housekeeping supplies.
- Maintain adequate stock levels and place orders for required housekeeping supplies.
- Ensure all cleaning activities comply with workplace health and safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements.
- Address guest requests, complaints, and housekeeping-related concerns promptly and professionally.
- Liaise with front office and other departments regarding room status, cleaning priorities, maintenance issues, and guest requirements.
- Report maintenance, damage, safety hazards, and other issues identified during room inspections.
- Maintain accurate housekeeping records, including room inspections, inventory, lost property, and staff attendance.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, and training where required.
- Ensure cleaning equipment and facilities are maintained in good working condition.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of housekeeping staff.
- Ensure lost property is recorded, secured, and handled in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor housekeeping costs and help maintain efficient use of labour, supplies, and resources.
- Ensure rooms and common areas are prepared to the required standard within operational timeframes.
- Implement and maintain housekeeping procedures and quality standards.
- Perform housekeeping duties when required to support the team during busy periods.
