We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Motel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our motel. The Motel Manager will be responsible for managing guest services, reservations, housekeeping, staff, property maintenance and financial activities to ensure the motel operates efficiently and provides a high standard of customer service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the motel, including reception, reservations, guest services and housekeeping.
  • Manage, supervise, train and roster motel staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate guest check-ins, check-outs, bookings and enquiries.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve guest complaints and service issues.
  • Oversee housekeeping activities and ensure motel rooms and common areas are clean, presentable and well maintained.
  • Supervise motel security arrangements and ensure the safety of guests, staff and property.
  • Coordinate property, garden and general maintenance and arrange repairs when required.
  • Monitor purchasing, stock levels, supplier arrangements and operating expenses.
  • Oversee accounting and daily financial activities, including banking, revenue and expense records.
  • Prepare and review operational and financial reports.
  • Ensure the motel complies with employment, health and safety and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Promote the motel's services and maintain good relationships with guests and suppliers.
  • Provide guests with information about local attractions, tourism activities, tours and transportation.
  • Identify operational issues and implement improvements to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction. 

Person Specification

  • Must have Diploma Level 5 or at least two years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work under pressure.
  • Basic understanding of financial, purchasing and administrative processes.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays when required.
