Duty Manager

About the Role

Only Ur's Limited is looking for an experienced Duty Manager to oversee the daily front-of-house and operational running of our Indian restaurant in Dunedin. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for staff, service quality, stock, and the overall customer experience during your shifts.

Key Responsibilities

•    Ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality food and beverages

•    Responding to customer inquiries and complaints about food, beverages and service

•    Planning and preparing staff work schedules and rosters, and assigning staff to specific duties

•    Interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances

•    Instructing staff on how to handle difficult or complicated customer service situations

•    Examining returned or incorrect orders and deciding on appropriate action

•    Taking stock of food and beverage supplies and ordering new stock

•    Ensuring menu items and products are correctly priced and displayed

•    Ensuring health, safety and security procedures are enforced

Skills and Experience Required

•    A New Zealand Register Level 2 diploma (or higher) relevant to hospitality/retail operations, OR at least one year of relevant work experience in a supervisory or duty management role

•    Strong communication and leadership skills

•    Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment

•    Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ), as this role involves the sale and supply of alcohol

•    Availability to work weekends is essential

Hours and Pay

A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed. Pay will be between $25.00 and $28.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
