About the Role

As a Health Care Assistant, you will provide clinical, technical, and administrative support to nursing and allied health teams across Central Hawke's Bay. Working under the direction of Registered Nurses, you will assist with patient care activities, support patient comfort and wellbeing, and help maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment.

This is a varied role that offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of patients and whānau. You will support day to day service delivery through a combination of patient care, equipment management, and administrative tasks, while working closely with a range of healthcare professionals. As a casual team member, you will have the opportunity to work across different settings and contribute to high quality care within your local community.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our Specialist and Community Services team provides a range of healthcare services across Central Hawke's Bay. You will join a supportive and collaborative team committed to delivering safe, patient centred care and improving health outcomes for the communities we serve.

About You

As a Health Care Assistant, you will bring:

• A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance, or be working towards this qualification
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Compassion, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting patients and whānau
• Strong organisational skills, adaptability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Confidence using computer and telephone systems and a willingness to learn new skills

This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to support healthcare services across the Central Hawke's Bay community.
