Allied Health Assistant
Make a practical difference in peoples everyday lives as part of our Community Allied Health team. Working under the guidance of registered Allied Health professionals, you will support clients in their homes through rehabilitation programmes, equipment delivery and installation, home visits, and essential daily activities. At the heart of the role is helping clients and whānau achieve their goals, build independence, and remain safely at home.
Community Allied Health bring together Allied Health Assistants, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech-Language Therapists, and Administration. Based in central Tauranga, the team works across the Western Bay of Plenty, taking a client-centred approach that supports people with physical health needs to regain function, independence, and confidence within their own communities.
Positive, practical, and comfortable working with people from all walks of life, you enjoy helping others achieve what matters to them. You build rapport easily, adapt to changing situations, and bring the confidence to work independently while knowing the value of a supportive team around you.
- Previous Allied Health Assistant, Health Care Assistant, or other relevant healthcare experience
- A genuine interest in rehabilitation and supporting clients to achieve greater independence
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good organisation and time management skills
- Confidence with basic computer systems and clinical documentation
- Ability to adapt and embrace different ways of working
- Full New Zealand driver licence, including the ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles
