Registered Mental Health Nurse - Hutt Valley Community Mental Health Team

Location: Hutt North Community Mental Health team base located in central Upper Hutt

Contract: Permanent Full Time (1 FTE) - 40 hours per week 8am - 4.30pm

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Registered Community Mental Health Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team based in the heart of Upper Hutt. This is an opportunity to work alongside tāngata whaiora and whānau in the community, building meaningful therapeutic relationships and providing safe, compassionate, culturally responsive and evidence-based care.

You'll provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, clinical interventions and ongoing support, working collaboratively with tāngata whaiora, whānau, colleagues and other services to promote recovery and wellbeing.

About you

You'll be an experienced Registered Nurse with:

  • Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate
  • Relevant postgraduate mental health qualification
  • At least 3 years' mental health experience (not essential), ideally in community mental health and addiction
  • Strong clinical assessment, therapeutic and communication skills
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural safety and equitable outcomes for Māori and whānau
  • A recovery-focused, collaborative approach
  • Commitment to professional development and reflective practice
  • A full New Zealand driver licence
  • Ability to complete and consent to a full Police Vetting and Misconduct Check
