About the role

Join a dynamic small nursing team, and broader clinical team who are committed to improving the care of patients with diabetes disease.

Facets of this role include direct patient assessment, clinical consultations, formal and informal teaching, participating in quality programs and leadership.

Provide specialist nursing care and expertise both in direct care delivery and supporting other staff in the management of Endocrinology patients/consumer groups/area of practice.

Collaborate across the organisation within the specialty acting in the roles of practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent and care coordinator/case manager

Acquire expert knowledge base, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies to prepare for extended practice within a speciality area of practice/population group.

Opportunity for the right candidate to advance their next steps in their career trajectory of becoming a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner Candidate.

We also welcome applications from registered nurses with a strong interest in Diabetes management and a commitment to developing their practice in this speciality. The right candidate may be endorsed for a Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist Pathway, with the support to undertake postgraduate study, clinical development and mentorship to achieve CNS level practice.

Postgraduate qualifications are desirable; however, candidates who do not currently hold a postgraduate qualification will be supported and expected to work towards an appropriate postgraduate qualification as part of their professional development and progression within the role.
