Well-established Tomi Ro Restaurant in Northwest Auckland is looking for a Restaurant Assistant Manager/Supervisor.

This is a full time, permanent position with guaranteed weekly working hours of 30 hours. We will offer the wage from $26.00 - $30.00 per hour based on your experiences and skills.

  • Proven experience working in the hospitality industry.
  • Good knowledge and work experience in Japanese F&B services is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Multilingual skills are an asset in serving our multicultural and diverse customer base (English, Japanese, and Korean preferred).

Qualifications:

  • Relevant hospitality qualifications are preferred but not essential.
  • A Diploma or higher in Hospitality, Tourism, Airline Service or Business highly regarded
  • Current LCQ (License Controller Qualification) required
  • Current Duty Manager Certificate or eligibility to obtain one

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure seamless and efficient service.
  • Lead, supervise, train, and mentor Front of House (FOH) staff to uphold venue standards.
  • Manage staff rostering, attendance, and overall performance.
  • Screen, interview, hire, and train restaurant staff.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by handling inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
  • Check in on dining customers to enquire about food quality and service.
  • Review customer feedback to develop and implement ways to improve customer service.
  • Monitor guest reservations and optimize seating arrangements.
  • Collaborate with Chefs on menu planning, special promotions, and marketing events.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate the ordering of food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.
  • Uphold restaurant policies regarding health, safety, hygiene, and strict compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act.
  • Oversee cash handling, POS operations, and end-of-day financial reporting.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the venue.
