About the Role

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our Theatre team at Timaru Hospital.

As a Theatre Registered Nurse, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality perioperative care across a range of surgical specialties. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide safe, patient-centred care throughout the perioperative journey, ensuring excellent outcomes for patients and their whānau.

This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic operating theatre environment while working alongside experienced nursing, surgical, anaesthetic, and support teams. Whether you have existing perioperative experience or are looking to further develop your career in this specialty area, we welcome applications from nurses committed to delivering exceptional care.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand • A current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) • A commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment • Strong organisational and time management skills • The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced clinical environment • A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving equitable health outcomes for Māori

Desirable:

• Previous perioperative or theatre nursing experience • Postgraduate study relevant to perioperative nursing • PDRP participation

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the applicable pay scale and dependent on experience.
