We are looking for an experienced and motivated Store Manager to join our team in the Canterbury Region. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the store, staff management, stock control, compliance, financial administration, and maintaining high standards of customer service and presentation.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Determine the appropriate product mix, stock levels and service standards for the store.

• Monitor stock levels, order stock according to customer demand and sales trends, and ensure popular products remain adequately stocked.

• Formulate and implement purchasing, pricing and marketing policies for the store.

• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions.

• Promote and advertise the store’s goods and services and plan sales promotions and product displays.

• Prepare and monitor store budgets, analyse sales and financial performance, and monitor profitability.

• Manage daily banking and liaise with the accountant regarding PAYE, GST and other financial matters.

• Recruit, select, train, roster and supervise staff and monitor their work performance.

• Organise and coordinate staff training and ensure employees follow store policies and procedures.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store and communicate with staff.

• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, food safety standards and other applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

• Liaise with Council and other relevant regulatory authorities where required.

• Ensure the store, customer areas and work areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and presentable condition.

• Deal with customer enquiries and complaints and ensure appropriate standards of customer service are maintained.

Skills & Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant experience OR a relevant diploma-level qualification is required.

Hours and Remuneration

• Full-time, permanent position.

• Minimum 30 hours per week.

• Hourly pay rate: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour.
