At OPTIMUS SERVICES NZ LIMITED, we are committed to excellence in commercial cleaning. We're now looking for three motivated and committed Commercial Cleaners to join our dynamic team.

Availability: Rostered shifts including weekends, night shifts, public holidays, split and floating shifts. Candidate must be compulsorily available on weekends.

Do you enjoy keeping spaces clean and feeling proud of your work? We’re looking for a positive and reliable Cleaner to join our friendly team. A mix of commercial and residential cleaning, with training provided.

The successful applicants will be responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning services to commercial and residential clients. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Core Cleaning Tasks

  • Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping, and sanitising
  • Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas
  • Emptying bins and removing rubbish
  • Cleaning and disinfecting laundry and bathroom fixtures, and replenishing supplies
  • Following site-specific checklists, procedures, and client instructions
  • Reporting hazards, damages, or maintenance issues
  • Ensuring all work areas meet company cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Maintain cleaning supplies according to environmental act 1991
  • Colour coding - Correct use of cloths, mops, buckets and contamination control
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures relating to the performance of tasks, use of products or supplies and incident reporting.
  • Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health and Safety and quality control standards.
  • Conduct cleaning verification checks to ensure high hygiene standards. 

Specialist Cleaning Tasks

  • Operating heavy-duty and industrial cleaning equipment
  • Using commercial vacuum cleaners for floors, work areas, and machinery
  • Carpet cleaning (powder, liquid, and steam methods)
  • Window and glass cleaning
  • Responding to spills or stains effectively

Work Expectations

  • Work efficiently, safely, and independently after training
  • Maintain a professional attitude with clients and team members
  • Be available for on-call or one-off jobs (with prior notice)

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Own reliable transport; must have a full NZ driver’s licence (clean record required)
  • Able to provide a pre-employment drug test (if requested)
  • Must pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) background check
  • Ability to work split shifts: 4 am–11 am & 7 pm – 11 pm
  • Available 5–6 days between Monday–Sunday
  • Physically fit and capable of manual cleaning tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high hygiene standards
  • Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to long-term employment
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be a NZ Citizen, Resident, or hold a valid full-time work visa

Preferred (Not Essential)

  • Previous cleaning experience
  • Experience using commercial or industrial cleaning equipment
  • Good communication skills
