We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join the team. This is a hands-on role responsible for leading the Front of House team, running smooth and efficient service, maintaining high standards of customer experience, and ensuring strong host responsibility and compliance throughout each shift.
We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team and making sure the pub runs well from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for running your shift, supporting the FOH team and ensuring our customers receive great service in a welcoming environment.
A big part of the role is host responsibility. You’ll need to be confident managing responsible alcohol service, recognising and dealing with intoxication, handling difficult situations and ensuring our liquor licence requirements are followed at all times.
What you’ll be doing:
- Running the establishment during your allocated shifts
- Leading and supporting the FOH team through service
- Maintaining high standards of customer service and hospitality
- Ensuring smooth communication between FOH and the kitchen
- Managing customer requests, feedback and issues professionally
- Taking an active role in host responsibility and responsible alcohol service
- Monitoring customer behaviour and dealing with issues before they escalate
- Managing refusals of service when required
- Ensuring staff follow host responsibility and venue procedures
- Completing opening, closing and shift procedures
- Supporting functions, events and busy trading periods
- Assisting with staff training and maintaining service standards
- Supporting stock, cash handling and general venue operations
- Reporting operational, maintenance and staff issues to management
- Ensuring the venue remains clean, safe and well presented
What we’re looking for:
- Previous Duty Manager or senior hospitality experience
- Current Duty Manager’s Certificate and LCQ
- Strong understanding of host responsibility
- Confident leading a team in a busy hospitality environment
- Calm and confident when dealing with challenging situations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, organised and proactive
- A hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in
- Someone who takes pride in creating a great experience for both locals and visitors
