About the Role

You will care for patients presenting with a range of conditions including trauma, tumours, cerebral haemorrhages, and spinal conditions. You will be part of a collaborative environment, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective care. Our clinical setting encourages nurses to be strong patient advocates, ensuring high-quality and compassionate care. About the Service

The Waikato neurosurgical department, which has been running for 20 years, receives and provides care to patients across the Midlands region for acute and elective management.

About You

Skills and experience required:

  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate held with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, neurosurgery experience would be advantageous
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to work rostered shifts including nights and weekends
  • Strong assessment skills- this role relies heavily on keen observation skills
  • Strong communication skills and a solution-focused attitude
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
