About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will bring advanced clinical expertise and leadership to support the delivery of high-quality paediatric services. Working across primary, secondary, tertiary and community settings, you will partner with patients, whānau, clinicians, and community providers to provide flexible, responsive, and culturally safe care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing and ongoing management of paediatric patients within your scope of practice.
  • Leading nurse-led clinics and innovative models of care that improve access and health outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with primary care providers, Hauora Māori services, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supporting health promotion, disease management, and patient and whānau education.
  • Providing clinical leadership, mentoring, teaching and supervision to nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Contributing to service development, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
  • Supporting culturally safe practice and upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of care.

About you

You will be a confident and compassionate clinician with a commitment to clinical excellence, service innovation, and health equity.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • An approved prescribing qualification with prescribing authority within your scope of practice.
  • Significant clinical experience in paediatric nursing and advanced clinical practice.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, teaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for improving outcomes for tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau.
  • A demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural safety, and achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori.
