Clinical Manager - Addiction Services, Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital

Permanent, Full Time, 80 Hours per fortnight (1 FTE)

Lead a dedicated addiction service and help shape innovative, recovery-focused care that supports better outcomes for tangata whaiora, whānau, and the wider Hawke's Bay community.

About the Role

As the Clinical Manager - Addiction Services, you will provide operational leadership and clinical oversight for a new collective of specialist services dedicated to supporting people experiencing addiction and substance use challenges. Working in partnership with the Mental Health & Addictions leadership team, you will lead service delivery, manage resources, support workforce development, and ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care for tangata whaiora and their whānau.

This is a significant leadership opportunity for an experienced nursing or allied health professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for people accessing addiction services. You will drive quality improvement initiatives, support multidisciplinary teams, manage complex operational and clinical issues, and help shape the future direction of addiction services across Hawke's Bay. This role offers the opportunity to combine strategic leadership, clinical expertise, and service development while making a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of our community.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our Addiction Services are part of the wider Mental Health & Addictions Group and provides assessment, treatment, and recovery-focused support for people experiencing addiction-related challenges. We are committed to delivering equitable, culturally responsive care and work closely with primary care, NGOs, community services, and specialist providers to achieve the best outcomes for tangata whaiora and whānau.

About You

As a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will bring:

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate or
• Current registration with a relevant Allied Health regulatory body and a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Extensive clinical experience within addiction, mental health, or a related speciality area.
• A postgraduate qualification in addiction or a related specialty area.
• Proven leadership experience with a strong track record of developing and supporting high-performing teams.
• Strong operational, financial, quality improvement, and people management skills.
• A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and delivering high quality, recovery focused care.

Desirable:

• Experience leading services within the health sector.
• Knowledge of the wider health, addiction, and mental health environment.
