About the Role

As a Casual Registered Nurse at Wairoa Hospital & Health Centre, you will provide high-quality nursing care across a range of clinical settings, supporting patients and whānau through comprehensive assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation. Working within a small rural hospital environment, you'll have the opportunity to practise across multiple areas including the Emergency Department, Acute Inpatient Ward, Maternity Unit, Outpatient Department, and Community Services.

Wairoa Hospital & Health Centre provides a wide range of healthcare services to the local community, delivering rural hospital, emergency, outpatient, maternity, and community-based care. Our team is committed to providing high-quality healthcare close to home and works collaboratively to support the health and wellbeing of the people of Wairoa and surrounding communities.

About You

As a Registered Nurse, you will bring:

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • IV certification/designation and strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management abilities.
  • The ability to work effectively across a variety of clinical settings and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and delivering equitable, patient-centred care.

Desirable:

  • Rural nursing experience.
  • Acute medical, emergency, and/or paediatric nursing experience.
  • A current PDRP portfolio.
  • CORE Advanced certification.
