Health New Zealand - Counties Manukau Radiology is located in South Auckland across Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Health Park (MHP) and is at the forefront of innovative health care delivery with the New Zealand Public Health Sector. We provide radiology services to patients from a very diverse community and receive referrals nationally for patients with spinal injuries and burns. Radiology is a rapidly growing service with expansion into new premises at MHP currently underway.
This position is full-time, and rostering will include a contribution to MIT shift roster which has an on-call component. The successful applicant must hold a current annual practicing certificate with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board (MRTB). This position reports to the X-ray Modality Leads and MIT Team Leader.
Key responsibilities include covering and supporting clinical tutors including onboarding, supervising and assessing the MIT students. You will also need to meet the requirements to become a MRTB supervisor for international candidates requiring supervision. On a day-to-day basis the role is about organising the workload and providing leadership coverage in the absence of the Modality Lead. Other aspects of this role include conducting skeletal studies, vetting referrals and helping manage professional development within the team.
To be successful you will require a minimum of 2 years experience in a trauma hospital setting and have experience in assessing students, vetting referrals and co-ordinating the delivery of care in a busy environment.
