About the Role

Develop broad clinical experience as an Acute Physiotherapist working rotationally across the acute and rehabilitation inpatient services at Whakatāne Hospital. You will assess and support patients with a diverse range of orthopaedic, neurological and general medical conditions, providing rehabilitation that promotes recovery, function and safe discharge. Working within an established interdisciplinary team, you will also contribute to the management of complex clinical, social and discharge planning needs.

About the Team/Service/Location

You will join a supportive Allied Health service working alongside colleagues across acute and rehabilitation care at Whakatāne Hospital. Collaboration is central to the team, with different disciplines working together to navigate clinical, rehabilitation, social and discharge needs and achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. About You

You are a Physiotherapist who enjoys variety, teamwork and the challenge of a busy inpatient environment. Flexible and enthusiastic, you organise your workload well, respond confidently to changing priorities and communicate effectively with patients, whānau and colleagues. You are comfortable working independently while recognising when to draw on the knowledge and support of your wider team.

What you will bring:

• Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Sound physiotherapy assessment, clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills
• Ability to manage and prioritise a varied clinical caseload
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
• A flexible and responsive approach to changing patient and service needs
• Confidence working autonomously and seeking clinical support when appropriate
• Commitment to patient and whānau-centred, culturally responsive care
• Availability to participate in the rotating roster, including weekends and statutory holidays
