About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) – Breast Care.

Working across primary and secondary care settings throughout South Canterbury, you will provide specialist clinical expertise, education, leadership, and support to patients, whānau, and healthcare professionals. You will play a key role in coordinating and enhancing breast care services, supporting patients throughout their diagnostic, treatment, and recovery journey.

This diverse role combines advanced clinical practice with service development, quality improvement, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration. You'll work closely with surgical teams, primary care providers, and community services to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care and positive outcomes for our community.

About the Team / Service / Location

The Breast Care Service works closely with General Surgery and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, patient-centred care across South Canterbury. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a specialised service while enjoying the flexibility of a part-time role.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Postgraduate study towards, or completion of, a postgraduate diploma or higher qualification
  • Proven clinical experience and the ability to provide expert, evidence-based nursing care.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • A passion for service improvement, education, and patient advocacy.
  • A current Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and achieving equitable health outcomes.

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the relevant collective agreement and salary will be in accordance with the applicable pay scale and dependent on experience.
