Core Midwife Motueka

Work as a midwife in true midwifery practice in a wonderful primary maternity unit! This 0.3 FTE fixed term for 12 months position is committed to women-centred and culturally respectful care. You will be part of a fabulous supportive midwifery team environment.

About the Team/Location

The Motueka Maternity Unit (Te Whare Whānau) is a primary maternity facility supporting the local Lead Maternity Carer community with antenatal, postnatal, and uncomplicated birthing care. This sole-charge role involves rostered 12-hour rotating shifts within a supportive team environment. The unit has a strong focus on providing whānau-centred care, with particular emphasis on supporting wāhine and their babies to establish and maintain breastfeeding, ensuring the best possible start for their parenting journey.

We are looking to employ NZ registered midwives with loads of passion and commitment to join our maternity team. We have 1,000 births a year and we can promise that your core midwifery role will be busy and varied - so no two days will be the same.
