We are a restaurant in Christchurch looking for 2 x Cooks to join our team. Applicants must be skilled, hardworking, and able to work in a busy, high-pressure environment.

Pay: $24–$28 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
Position: Full-time, rostered work

Job Description

  • Check food ingredients and supplies to ensure quality.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and standards.
  • Operate and regulate ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
  • Season, portion, plate, and garnish dishes with sauces and gravies.
  • Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
  • Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements.
  • Maintain the distinctive smoky Texan flavour and style of our dishes.
  • Assist the Head Chef with menu planning and food preparation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience OR a Level 4 or higher qualification in cookery, hotel management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Indian regional cuisines and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-pressure kitchen.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Training will be provided to successful applicants.
