About the Role

An exciting opportunity awaits a midwife lactation consultant with expert clinical skills to join our team. You will be instrumental in delivering a high quality lactation service in an inpatient environment with approximately 6,000 births per annum.

This team provides expert lactation care and support and leads the implementation and evaluation of the annual lactation plan. This includes:

  • Professional leadership in promoting and supporting breastfeeding and best clinical practice
  • Support in transitional care with late pre-term pēpi and whanau
  • Lactation education and training for the multidisciplinary team
  • Developing, reviewing and updating practice standards, clinical guidelines and information
  • BFHI accreditation
  • Quality projects

You will bring:

  • Expert skills in lactation assessment and support
  • A current IBCLC
  • Computer literacy
  • A passion for teaching

  • NZ Midwifery registration and annual practising certificate
