About the Role
We have a vacancy for a highly motivated individual wishing to join our pharmacy team to support our pharmacy services.
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in our department by ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely supply of medications to patients across Taupo Hospital. You will be a key point of contact for nurses and other healthcare professionals, providing essential support and information. Your daily tasks will be varied, including dispensing a wide range of pharmaceuticals, preparing non-sterile compounded products, and assisting with stock management to maintain optimal inventory levels. This is a role where your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will directly contribute to excellent patient care. You'll work collaboratively with pharmacists and other technicians in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
You will be exposed to automated dispensing units (Pyxis) - this is an ongoing project rolling across 2026-2027. This is an excellent opportunity to join a patient focused, multidisciplinary team and experience hospital pharmacy.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our team is split across two sites (Rotorua and Taupo) and consists of 21 staff members: 13x pharmacists, 1x pharmacy intern and 7x technicians. Lots of variety and opportunities to take advantage of to help keep yourself stimulated.

About you
- NZ Certified Pharmacy Technician Level 4, 5 or 6 with or without a PACT qualification
- A flexible team player, with a diligent approach to your work.
- A problem-solver with a positive `can-do attitude.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, excellent time management skills, be consistent, reliable and accurate in your work.
- Possesses a very high standard of ethical and professional practice.
- Customer service focused.
- A person with a good sense of humor who is willing to share their experience and expertise with the rest of the team
