About the Role

As a Registered Health Clinician, you will work alongside wāhine kōpū, parents, pēpi and whānau experiencing mental health, addiction and other complex challenges during pregnancy and the early years of parenting. Working across the Manaaki Kākano and He Tupua Waiora services, you will provide assessment, treatment, care coordination and therapeutic interventions that support the wellbeing of both parents and infants.

You’ll collaborate with a wide range of health, social and community providers to deliver integrated, culturally safe care while empowering whānau to achieve positive outcomes for themselves and their tamariki.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Maternal and Infant Mental Health Service and Pregnancy & Parenting Service provide specialist support for whānau across the Far North. Our multidisciplinary team is passionate about improving outcomes for parents, infants and young children through early intervention, collaborative practice and strong partnerships with whānau, hapū, iwi and community agencies.

Based in Kaitaia, this role offers the opportunity to work in one of New Zealands most culturally rich and scenic regions while contributing to better health outcomes for the communities of Te Tai Tokerau.

About you

As an experienced mental health clinician, you will be passionate about whānau wellbeing and committed to delivering culturally safe, evidence-based care.

• Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with a current APC and professional registration
• At least two years' experience providing therapeutic interventions within mental health and/or addiction services
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Māori whānau and within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Knowledge of perinatal mental health, infant development, attachment and bonding, or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area
• Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence and excellent communication, relationship-building and care coordination skills
