About the Role

Work alongside rangatahi aged 13 to 18 and their whānau, providing assessment, therapeutic intervention, treatment planning and coordinated care as a Case Manager within the CAMHS Adolescent Team. Your mahi will take you beyond the clinic, working across homes, schools and community settings as well as the Tauranga-based service. The role also works partly within the eating disorder pathway, offering the opportunity to bring existing experience in this area or contribute to this specialist aspect of adolescent care.

About the Team/Service/Location

The CAMHS Adolescent brings together Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists and administrative colleagues as part of the wider Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. Evidence-based therapeutic practice is supported by trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approaches, with strong connections to whānau and the community. There is a genuine focus on learning too, with supervision, professional development, academic teaching and student placements forming part of the team's culture.

About You

You are an experienced mental health professional who builds genuine connections with rangatahi and whānau. Calm and adaptable when presentations become complex, you bring sound clinical judgement without losing sight of the young person behind the care plan. You are comfortable working independently in the community, enjoy contributing to a multidisciplinary team and value practice that includes whānau as partners in care.

What you will bring:

  • Current New Zealand registration and Annual Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, with Mental Health included within your scope of practice
  • At least two years experience working within a mental health setting
  • Experience in mental health assessment, therapeutic intervention, treatment planning and care coordination
  • Confidence supporting rangatahi and whānau experiencing acute or complex mental health presentations
  • Experience working with eating disorders would be an advantage
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across clinical and community settings
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming practice
  • A youth-focused, whānau-inclusive and culturally safe approach to care
  • Full NZ drivers licence
