About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the community mental health team in South Taranaki.

Are you interested in working with adults experiencing psychological distress making a difference in their lives and future wellbeing? Do you have a passion for mental health nursing and supporting clients through their recovery process?

Key aspects of this role are:

• Completing mental state assessments and risk assessments
• Building rapport with whai ora and aiding in recovery plans
• Engaging/networking with other organizations to support whai ora
• Engagement with the multidisciplinary team to promote evidence based mental health nursing practice
• Liaising with the MDT to ensure consistent treatment.
• Providing evidence based therapeutic interventions that promote recovery and wellbeing
• Providing medication oversight and support.

About you

Successful candidates must have:

• Mental health experience.
• Well established mental state and risk assessment skills.
• Experience using talking therapy techniques and proven de-escalation skills.
• A valid Annual Practicing Certificate with Nursing Council of New Zealand.
• Commitment to patient centred care with a wellbeing and recovery focus
