About the Role

Take the next step in your nursing leadership career within Te Whare Maiangiangi, Tauranga's Adult Inpatient Mental Health Unit. As the Associate Clinical Nurse Manager, you will work alongside the Clinical Nurse Manager to provide professional and clinical leadership to the nursing workforce, supporting safe, high-quality care and a positive team culture. This designated senior nursing role offers the opportunity to influence practice, strengthen workforce capability, and contribute to improved outcomes, particularly for tāngata whenua.

About the Team/Service/Location

Te Whare Maiangiangi provides specialist inpatient mental health care within Tauranga's Mental Health and Addiction Services. You will work alongside experienced nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues within a service focused on clinical excellence, evidence-based nursing practice, and Mātauranga informed models of care. Collaboration, strong leadership, and supporting staff to deliver excellent care sit at the heart of the service.

About You

You are an experienced mental health nurse ready to bring your clinical expertise into a senior leadership role. Approachable and confident, you bring energy, sound judgement, and a genuine commitment to developing people, strengthening team culture, and improving care for tangata whaiora and whānau.

What you will bring:

• Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and Annual Practising Certificate
• Significant experience in mental health nursing, ideally within an inpatient setting
• Previous senior nursing or clinical leadership experience is preferred
• Strong clinical judgement and the confidence to support complex decision making
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to mentor, guide, and support nursing colleagues
• A collaborative leadership approach that builds team capability and resilience
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement
• Commitment to culturally responsive care and improving health outcomes for tāngata whenua
