Are you looking to further your career in Anaesthesia/ ICU? Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Northland is seeking a motivated nontraining Anaesthetic Registrar to join our Anaesthetic team from February 2027.

About the Role

We are seeking a keen Anaesthetic Registrar to join our friendly team for one year followed by a fixed term position in ICU. While this is a nontraining position, the clinical experience and exposure are equivalent to that of training registrars. Previous registrars in this role have successfully had their time recognised towards formal training. Successful applicants are expected to have:

• A minimum of 12 months fulltime equivalent experience in Anaesthesia
• General registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand

Note - there is an out of hours commitment associated with this role.

Whangarei Hospital Department of Anaesthesia holds a 12-month accreditation with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).

Whangarei Hospital Department of Critical Care Medicine (CCM) holds a 12-month training accreditation with the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (CICM).
