We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Device and Electrophysiology to join our dynamic cardiology service at Waitematā.

Our Clinical Nurse Specialist, Device and Electrophysiology (Devices) plays a critical role in our team by specialising in the care of patients within the Electrophysiology service. This role encompasses managing the care and support of patients from the time of referral to case management follow up after an electrophysiology procedure or device implantation both as inpatients and in the outpatient setting.

This is an advanced practice role to undertake a comprehensive assessment and case management of patients who are undergoing a cardiac device implantation or an electrophysiology procedure. This role also provides clinical leadership within the electrophysiology and device service, including quality improvement initiatives, staff education, service development, and participation in audit and research activities.

Waitematā is the largest Health District in New Zealand, with two acute admitting hospitals at North Shore and Waitakere. Our cardiology service delivers high-quality acute and elective care across both sites

About You

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will bring advanced clinical expertise, leadership capability, and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You will have:

• RN Level 4 or equivalent in specialty with a current professional portfolio
• At least 5 years post-registration experience in cardiology nursing
• A Postgraduate qualification in this specialty
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and service development
• Proven care coordination skills and confidence working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

You will be a mature, positive, proactive, and enthusiastic practitioner with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. A patient-focused, inclusive, and team-oriented approach is essential.
