Permanent part time role with broad range of responsibility
Senior Business Administrator
Southland
Permanent Part-Time | 25 Hours Per Week
Remote-based with 1-2 days per month in Southland

Leading hourly rate depending on experience
Our client is a large Southland farming business with a growing commercial property portfolio. We're looking for an experienced and highly organised administrator to take ownership of a broad range of business support, compliance, property and executive administration functions.

This is a senior role suited to someone with significant NZ experience who enjoys creating order, improving systems and taking responsibility for ensuring important tasks are completed on time and to a high standard. Intermediate financial administration is a part of the role, so accuracy and discretion are a must.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the business owner, you'll be responsible for:

  • Commercial property administration, including leases, rent reviews, insurance, maintenance, compliance and key dates
  • Financial administration, invoice processing, coding, reconciliations and payroll support
  • Farm compliance and consent administration, including environmental reporting and documentation
  • Managing business records, document systems and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Coordinating vehicle, equipment and farm housing maintenance schedules
  • Providing executive support including email management, travel bookings, meeting co-ordination and follow-up actions
  • Improving systems, processes and technology across the wider business

The role is largely remote, with attendance in rural Southland typically required 1-2 days per month around monthly accounts meetings.

About You
You'll have a background in senior administration, office management, executive support, property administration or accounting support and be:
  • Exceptionally organised and self-managing
  • Practical, commercial and solutions-focused
  • Strong verbal communication and relationship building skills
  • Confident managing competing priorities
  • Discreet and trustworthy with confidential information
  • Strong with Microsoft 365, spreadsheets and document management systems
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of output and outcomes

Experience in the agricultural sector a bonus, but if you have a bookkeeping or property administration background it would be well suited to the position.

What's on Offer
  • Flexible part-time hours at market leading rates
  • Primarily remote working arrangement
  • Senior, trusted position with significant autonomy
  • Opportunity to help build systems and support a growing business
  • Home office tools of the trade provided
