Bentley Bakery and Cafe in Ngatea currently look for two hardworking, reliable, and motivated Kitchenhands to join our team.

The positions offer 30 to 40 hours per week, with a pay rate ranging from $24 to $30 per hour, depending on the applicant’s skills, experience, and level of responsibility.

Your duties will include:

  • Cleaning and sanitising food preparation areas, appliances, cutting boards, trays, and other kitchen equipment.

  • Removing rubbish and cleaning kitchen floors.

  • Unpacking and storing delivered food supplies appropriately.

  • Restocking supplies and informing the manager when food supplies are running low.

  • Washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.

  • Preparing salads, savouries, sandwiches, and other food items as required.

  • Packing food items and beverages for serving.

  • Performing other kitchen-related duties as required.

Required skills and attributes:

  • Able to start work at 4:30 am and available to work weekends and public holidays.

  • Physically fit and capable of performing tasks requiring physical strength, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

  • Able to learn quickly and work effectively under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment.

  • A good team player who can work cooperatively with other team members.

  • Strong multitasking and organisational skills.

  • Must have reliable transport to ensure punctuality for the 4:30 am start.

  • Previous relevant experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible, with a positive attitude towards work.
