About the Role
Join Oamaru Hospital's growing Radiology team on a fulltime, fixed term basis until February 2028! If fulltime hours don't work for you, let us know what does and we may be able to make something work!
In this role you will operate imaging equipment safely and efficiently, produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensure patient comfort throughout procedures, and maintain a clean, safe environment. You will work closely with the Radiology team, Emergency Department and ward doctors and wider healthcare teams, ensuring accurate imaging is provided in a timely manner to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

About the Team/Service/Location
Oamaru Hospital is a small rural hospital just over an hour from Dunedin and three hours from Christchurch. The Radiology Department is made up of a small team of MITs and Sonographers who work closely together to provide an excellent service to the local community. Oamaru Radiology
We operate 8am-5pm Monday to Friday and provides an urgent on call service for CT and X-Ray 24/7.

About You
We are searching for confident, skilled Medical Imaging Technologist who is committed to patient centred care.
What you will bring:
Current registration and Annual Practising Certificate with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB).
Strong commitment to patient safety, comfort and high-quality imaging.
Clear and effective communication skills with patients and colleagues.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
The successful Candidate will ideally be trained in CT but this is not essential. Training in CT will commence as soon as possible to allow the applicant to work independently on call once competent.
Salary range
This role belongs to the APEX/DHBs Medical Imaging Technologists Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($77,087 p.a) and Step 7 ($107,600 p.a pro rata) of the Medical Imaging Technologists scale.
