About this Role
The Administration Support Haematology role is to provide a professional, efficient and compassionate reception and administrative service that supports the delivery of patient-centred care. The role is responsible for welcoming patients and whānau, coordinating communication, accurately registering patients and maintaining high-quality information within our administration systems. Working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary Haematology team, and wider Cancer, Screening, Treatment and Support Service. The role contributes to effective patient flow, high standards of customer service, data quality, confidentiality and continuous service improvement.
This role also provides administration support for the Haematology Medical Lead and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides a professional, welcoming and compassionate first point of contact for patients, whānau and visitors.
- Ensures enquiries are managed promptly, respectfully and appropriately.
- Accurately registers patients and updates demographic and clinical administration information in Mosaiq, and the Patient Administration System (PAS).
- Has responsibility for maintaining a waiting list and booking, and scheduling of clinics, including regional clinics as required.
- Booking and scheduling of patients and management of waiting lists
- Maintains high standards of data quality to support clinical care, reporting, funding and Ministry of Health requirements.
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- At least five years' experience as an administrator, particularly in the health or equivalent social sector.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Impeccable communication skills and the ability to connect and collaborate.
- Flexibility, adaptability and able to work under pressure.
- Ability to juggle competing demands and multi-task in a busy environment.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- Knowledge of patient administration systems would be desirable
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in a health context.
