About the Role

We have an opportunity for one motivated, registered Nurse to join the Older Persons Assessment and Liaison (OPAL) team. As a Registered Nurse within the OPAL Service, you will provide high quality, person-centred nursing care to adult patients requiring assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals, maximise independence, and optimise their health outcomes. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, coordinate care, and advocate for patients and their whānau.

This role offers the opportunity to work with patients presenting with a range of complex medical, functional, and rehabilitation needs in a collaborative and supportive environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.

About the Service

The OPAL Service provides comprehensive assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for adult patients with a variety of medical, neurological, orthopaedic, and age-related conditions.

We are committed to delivering person-centred care that supports patients to regain function, maximise independence, and achieve the best possible quality of life. We work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team includes nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech-language therapists, healthcare assistants, and other allied health professionals to achieve positive patient outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate. A minimum of 6 years nursing experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Have a passion for providing high quality, person-centred care.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Be adaptable, organised, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to culturally safe practice and achieving equitable health outcomes.

Experience in rehabilitation, medical nursing, older persons' health or complex care nursing in an acute hospital setting would be advantageous.
