Property Assistant
ACG Parnell College is seeking a proactive and organised Property Assistant to join our team in a permanent, full-time position commencing in October 2026. Reporting to the Property Manager, this diverse role combines facilities coordination, administration, property maintenance, health and safety, security support, and operational assistance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our campus remains safe, secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for students, staff, visitors, and external users.
Key responsibilities include coordinating facility bookings and maintaining an accurate calendar of campus events and activities. Acting as the first point of contact for external groups wishing to use College facilities. Completing administrative tasks supporting facilities and property management, including weekly staff communications. Undertaking basic maintenance of buildings, equipment, grounds, and car park areas. Assisting with the setup, relocation, and movement of furniture, equipment, and resources. Reporting maintenance issues and supporting campus improvement and asset management projects. Assisting with security measures, alarm procedures, and campus access management. Supporting health and safety compliance, including monitoring contractors and external groups on site. Participating in student pedestrian crossing supervision as part of a duty roster. Providing professional and responsive support to staff, students, visitors, and the wider College community.
The ideal candidate will have a full, current New Zealand driver licence. Experience in facilities coordination, property support, maintenance, administration, or a similar role. Strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills. Sound computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office applications. A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to manage a varied workload. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety best practice. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the smooth operation of the College.
