Core Culinary Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, adhering to menu specifications and dietary requirements.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean workspace.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain kitchen efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and food safety practices.
Quality Control & Presentation
- Ensure all dishes are plated to a high standard, reflecting the restaurant's aesthetic and quality.
- Conduct regular taste tests and adjust recipes to enhance flavor profiles and presentation.
- Implement feedback from management and customers to continuously improve menu offerings.
- Maintain consistency in food preparation and presentation across all shifts.
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes and seasonal offerings.
Your Tech Stack
- Proficient in using commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers.
- Knowledge of food safety certifications, including HACCP and Food Handling certifications.
- Familiarity with kitchen management software for inventory and menu planning.
- Experience with various cooking techniques, including sous-vide, grilling, and baking.
- Ability to utilize knives and other culinary tools with precision and safety.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate meal preparation and service timing.
- Participate in team-building activities to foster a positive kitchen environment.
- Provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance overall kitchen performance.
- Engage with suppliers and local farmers to source the best ingredients for our dishes.
Compensation
This full-time Chef position offers an hourly wage ranging from $22 to $25, commensurate with experience and skills.
