We are looking for an experienced chef  (with skills in  cafe food , pizza making and Italian cuisine) to join our growing business in Orewa Auckland. This role is a full-time position with a minimum of 30 hours/week and the rate of pay will be $25-$30/hour depending on skill level and experience.
 
Key Responsibility :
 
  • Collaborate with restaurant manager to develop new dishes, create specials and contribute to menu development
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to our restaurant’s menu
  • Ensure consistent presentation and quality of meals at all stages
  • Store and maintain food
  • Maintain food safety records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Work closely with other kitchen team members to maintain efficiency in the kitchen environment
  • Minimize food waste by actively seeking solutions to help us achieve our waste management goals
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as needed
  • Contribute on budgeting and estimating food and labour cost
  • Demonstrate skills and mentor junior kitchen staff, including to provide guidance on food safety regulations and kitchen management best practices.
  • Raise concerns to the manager for any food preparation issues
 
Requirement :
 
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in cooking
  • A good team player and excellent social skills
  • Availability work on the weekends and during public holidays
