About Us

Hongxian Ltd is a reputable food manufacturing business based in Auckland, specializing in high-quality meat rolls and related products. Due to increased production demands, we are now seeking three experienced and skilled Cook to join our kitchen team and take on greater responsibility in the food preparation and cooking process.

Key Responsibilities

Independently prepare, cook, and monitor a variety of food items, including meat rolls and other fillings, according to production schedules and company recipes

Supervise and assist cook assistants in preparing ingredients including peeling, slicing, dicing, weighing, and portioning as required

Cut and grind meat, poultry, and seafood as part of preparation for cooking

Operate kitchen and factory equipment such as ovens, warmers, mixers, and slicers to ensure consistent quality and productivity

Oversee and ensure hygiene standards are upheld throughout the cooking and food handling process

Remove cooked items from ovens and food warmers and ensure proper holding temperatures are maintained for safety and quality

Collaborate with the team to meet daily production targets and timelines

Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, and communicate with the supervisor for replenishment

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning work surfaces, equipment, utensils, and ensuring proper food storage practices

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or food production environment
OR

A relevant Level 4 qualification or a bachelor’s degree in any discipline may substitute for the experience

Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices in New Zealand

Ability to follow recipes and cooking procedures accurately

Physically fit to handle frequent standing, lifting (up to 20kg), and repetitive tasks

Good communication and teamwork skills

Experience with food handling, ingredient preparation, and cooking equipment is essential
