We are hiring two full time (at least 30 hours per week ) skilled Chinese Cuisine Cooks to join Empress Garden, meeting the growing demand from our discerning diners.

 

Requirements:
At least two years of work experience in cooking authentic Chinese cuisine.
Alternatively, a Chinese Occupational Skills Testing Authority Certificate or a Chinese Certificate of Occupational Skill  in Traditional Cuisine may substitute for the required experience.
Must be presentable, reliable, and capable of delivering under pressure while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.


Responsibilities:
examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
preparing and cooking food
seasoning food during cooking
portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
storing food in temperature controlled facilities
preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
may plan menus and estimate food requirements
may train other kitchen staff and apprenticesKey Attributes:
A positive working attitude, reliability, and the initiative to work unsupervised.
Experience in kitchen management, including food supply and ordering, is a bonus.
Availability to work on weekends and public holidays as needed.
