We are a busy cafe located in the heart of Hibiscus Coast, Auckland, looking for three talented and dedicated cooks/chefs to join our kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for chefs who are passionate about great food and great customers, work well under pressure  in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·       Maintaining Food Control Plan, monitor and manage inventory levels ensuring food quality              and freshness.

·       Good team player and excellent social skills, physically fit, honest, reliable.

·       Provide guidance to other kitchen and front of house staff members.

·       Ordering supplies as need it, ensuring a first-in, first-out.

·       Can do attitude, hands on approach, team player, ability to commute to work with reliable              travel.

·       Be able to modify the menus according to seasonal produce and customer demands.

·       Ability to work well under pressure and have passion for excellence in hospitality.

·       Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies.

·       Be reliable, hard-working, have a positive attitude, enjoy being busy and productive.

·       You are responsible for assisting the head chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

·       Be able to manage food and wage costing in accordance with head chef's requirements.

·       Working alongside with kitchen staff and manager to create exceptional dishes.

·       Take pride in all work.

·       A natural leader willing to take control in the head chef's absence.

·       Work with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability and training opportunities.

·       Hires and trains the new kitchen staffs for the restaurant and kitchen standards.

·       Direct and correct the presentation and portioning of food according to company standards.

·       Work alongside with head chef and manager to manage daily kitchen activities, including                overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation.

·       Minimum of two years relevant experience in cooking 

·       Available to work on the weekends and during public holidays 

·       Hours and position 

Full time permanent job with minimum 30/hours per week

·       Pay Rate

$25 to $30 per hour depending on skills and level of experience.
