We are seeking three skilled Thai cooks to join our culinary team. 

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Thai food ingredients and cooking techniques AND

  • At least 2 years of related work experience or

  • At least an NZ Register Diploma Level 4 qualification (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification) or

  • A National Skill Standard Test for Thai Chef (Level 1) from Thailand

Job Descriptions

  • Inspecting food items to maintain quality standards

  • Monitoring and adjusting the temperature of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances

  • Preparing and cooking meals

  • Adding seasoning to food during the cooking process

  • Serving food by portioning, plating, and applying sauces, gravies, and garnishes

  • Storing ingredients and prepared food in temperature-controlled environments

  • Preparing meals tailored to specific dietary need

  • May be responsible for menu planning and estimating food quantities needed

  • May also be involved in training kitchen staff and apprentices

Other detail

  • This is a full-time and permanent position

  • Wage is between $27.00 and $30.00 per hour, depending on your experience and skills, with weekly payments.

  • Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law

  • You will be working at 96 Spey Street, Invercargill

  • You will work according to a roaster 5 - 6 days each week with a guarantee of 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours)
