We are looking for 5 skilled Cooks to join our dynamic team on the beautiful West Coast of New Zealand. This role involves preparing and cooking high-quality meals, ensuring food safety, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for guests. Minimum 30 hours guarenteed.

Remuneration: $25–$27 per hour (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Minimum 30 hours/week guaranteed)

Rainforest Retreat is seeking 5 skilled Cooks to join our team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our diverse clientele, including tour groups, resort guests, and walk-in diners.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Preparing and cooking meals according to set menus and quality standards
✅ Assisting in menu planning and suggesting new dishes
✅ Managing stock levels and ensuring ingredients are available for service
✅ Following food safety and hygiene regulations, including the Food Control Plan
✅ Keeping kitchen and workstations clean, organized, and sanitized
✅ Reporting maintenance or stock issues to the Food & Beverage Manager
✅ Ensuring efficient service by working collaboratively with the kitchen team
✅ Maintaining a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

✔️ Minimum 1 year of relevant cooking experience OR a relevant qualification at Level 2 or 3 (or higher), such as in cookery, hospitality, tourism, or a related field. A willingness to learn and contribute to a professional kitchen environment is essential.
✔️ Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices prefered
✔️ Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks
✔️ Excellent time management and organizational skills
✔️ Strong communication and teamwork abilities
✔️ Willingness to adapt and take on additional kitchen duties as needed
