Looking for a junior Chef for a busy Japanese Restaurant and Takeaway in Te Puke.

Job description

 

·      Prepare and cook various dishes, according to established recipes or new creations.

·      Plan and design menus and catering to customer preferences or dietary needs

·      Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards regarding taste, presentation, and portion sizes.

·      Ordering food supplies and ingredients and managing inventory levels.

·      Ensure the kitchen complies with food safety and sanitation standards, adhering to all health regulations and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

·      Monitor food costs and adjust inventory or menu items to maximize profitability.

·      Work closely with restaurant management, waitstaff, and other chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations and a seamless customer experience.

·      Coordinate with managers, dietitians, kitchen staff, and waitstaff to address food preparation concerns.

 

 

Candidate requirements

 

Minimum 2 to 3  years of relevant experience or a Level 4 or above relevant qualification, preferably in Cookery.
